Welcome to Rebuild Urban America

As we all know, the past few years have been rough.  Global pandemics, national quarantines, shutdowns and a variety of other impacting issues that we too were not immune.  But, we're back.

Many of the collaborations of the past will remain, but due to the rapid changes in our society, we too have to adapt and change to meet the needs of the various communities in which we serve.  Some of the old programs and services may be gone or had to evolve to fit the new realities of our world today.  Our mission has always been and will always be, as a foundational philosophy, to serve the communities in which we live and work.  This means our principles will always be the same, but out methodology may have to change to meet the challenges confronting the individual communities we serve.  So, we ask all of you to stay the course and continue your support for the future and stay with us for all of our future endeavors.  

We look forward to Rebuilding Urban America together again, because we are the organization where the name offers the challenge...

RUA...Part of the Solution

Rebuild Urban America (RUA) was created in August 2012 as a 501(c)3 Private Operating Foundation.  RUA has at its' foundation, the goal of providing specific solutions for otherwise abandoned areas in which socio-economic investment has waned over a given period of time.  RUA seeks to reinvest in these areas by providing practical solutions to empower the citizens left in the areas by addressing the causal factors that impact the areas; consequently resulting in massive dis-investment.  RUA has addressed these issues as a comprehensive solution provider by utilizing a collaborative of professional entities (individuals and companies), identifying community resources, assessing existing infrastructure and creating and designing asset inventory tools to reach the goals of RUA as an organization.  The key to the RUA approach is to identify skills and talents within the areas otherwise deemed to be void of any talent.

Many times, in our nation, mass jobs are created and many individuals and family's lives are stabilized and revived by the infusion of these employment opportunities.  For most of the history of our nation, mass employment opportunities come to the areas in which mass advocacy has been focused.  As an example, our nations farming community received assistance from government and corporations, when their needs were placed in the nations eyesight.  Other area s and issues have followed suit.  But what of the areas that usually have no voice?  What happens to the sub-communities within the larger communities. 

Sure, large cities many get Block-Grant resources allocated to address the overall city, but those resources rarely to ever reach the communities hit hardest by poverty, or poor education, or corporate and business abandonment?  They fall outside of the eyesight of those allocating the resources and are soon forgotten.  For a variety of reasons ranging from not having the skills or expertise to deal with the issues to simply being embarrassed to accept that many of the conditions impacting these communities are far worse than other nations to which our nation sends assistance and aide.  It was for these reasons RUA was created.

RUA was created by people who have their origins in areas described.  These people have since attained higher levels of education, created successful businesses and are now the new molders and shapers of the future of, our nation, United States of America.   Because of the is fact, many of the those people are forever aware of the realities facing those in the areas from which they came.  This is the origins of Rebuild Urban America.  A collaborative of those dedicated to the transformation of the forgotten parts of our nation.  This is the brief history of the organization.

Rebuild Urban America (RUA), is a broad-based collaborative urban initiative designed to address the negatively impacting issues in urban areas throughout the United States.  The initiatives' goals are to achieve economic self-sufficiency through community capacity building, empower citizens to participate in the provision of access to livable communities, improvement of environmentally applicable educational opportunities, increase access to high quality health care through collaboration and advocacy, develop a range of support services and provide meaningful employment opportunities by enhancing existing skills and developing new relevant skills.

Rebuild Urban America will do this by developing strategic partnerships within the urban areas, as well as providing comprehensive solutions with these partners to create plans of action to transform the lives and infrastructure of the communities in which we work.

As we gear back up to meet the goals of our organization's mission, we are contacting all past members and past organizations to join us again to Rebuild Urban America.
